Evaluation of fatal traffic accidents
Nekulová, Pavla ; Dašková, Jaroslava (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of bachelor’s thesis is the evaluation of the influence of variable surface characteristics of roadways (skid resistance and longitudinal unevenness) on fatal traffic accidents in The South Moravian Region in 2011. This bachelor’s thesis contains characteristics of chosen high accident locations and measurement results of the longitudinal friction coefficient and longitudinal unevenness of road surface.
Optimization Of Selected Proposed ČSN Elements For Road Design
Kokeš, Ondřej ; Čepil, Jiří (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
Diploma thesis describes and researches some proposed ČSN 73 6101 elements for road design and their subsequent comparison with Norma de Traçado that is main law for road design in Portugal. In practical part, the speed of vehicles during moving on direction curves is researched and subsequently coherence of theoretical assumptions with real speeds is compared. The main aim of this work is to verify the assumption that design speed does not correspond to the real speed that drivers move on road structures.
Prediction of road surface skid resistance in laboratory
Nekulová, Pavla ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Stryk, Josef (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The dissertation deals with a testing method described in ČSN EN 12697-49 (also known as Wehner/Schulze), which aims to predict the evolution of skid resistance properties of road surfaces using laboratory testing. Given that the required quality of skid resistance on road surfaces must be met not only for new constructions but also at the end of the warranty period, contractors of transportation structures have started focusing on the lifespan of road skid resistance properties. Although the Wehner/Schulze test was introduced in the 1960s, increased attention has been given to it only in the last fifteen years. The fundamental prerequisite for utilizing this testing method is linking the measurement results in the laboratory to values measured by dynamic measuring devices, commonly used for monitoring the skid resistance of road surfaces. This involves establishing a relationship between laboratory simulation of traffic and actual traffic load. The final step involves employing the Wehner/Schulze testing method to design special asphalt mixtures with optimal longevity of skid resistance properties. In this case, it entails an asphalt mixture with a combination of aggregates with different PSV values to utilize local aggregates with low PSV values, supplemented with a small quantity of high-quality imported aggregates with high PSV values.
Skid resistance of pavements
Stránský, Jakub ; Stehlík, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis main purpose is to process the knowledge about skid resistance, its mesurement, the equipment used and its failures and suitable repairs of solid and nonsolid roadways. The practical part evaluates skid resistance properities of selected highway sections with solid and nonsolid surface on the basis of measured values of PTV.
Adhesion of the materials for the horizontal marking
Šašinková, Daniela ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis deals with the adhesion of materials for horizontal road marking in the case of renewal of marking and two-phase marking. Within the work specified parameters were measured and evaluated. The theoretical part describes the initial situation and is followed by the general characteristic of the horizontal road marking. Further, there are also described individual tests performed on horizontal road marking carried out within the presented bachelor thesis. The practical part deals with the preparation, production and description of the samples that have been used for this work. The evaluation of the measurements carried out on all testing samples of the marking follows. All evaluations are based on test results and photo documentation.
